multiple accolades and achievements. She was named 3 time Academic All-American, named 4 times to the Sunbelt Commissioner’s list, holds multiple invitational meet records, is on the top ten performance list for 9 events, holds the school record in 6 events, holds the Sunbelt Conference record in 1 event, was named MVP all four years, and named team captain her Senior year. Through her passion for swimming, she was able to pursue her ultimate, lifelong goal of a career in medicine. Upon graduation from UNT, promptly began graduate school at UT Southwestern Medical Center to become a Physician Assistant. After the rigorous 2.5 year program with many hours in the classroom and in the hospital for rotations, she developed a love for the fast paced and rigorous specialties of emergency medicine and surgery. Upon graduation, she accepted a position in the Emergency Department at Medical City of Dallas and at 1st Class Urgent Care. Working in a clinic setting enables her to practice her love of fast paced patient care, but allows for more time to have meaningful patient interaction and continuity of care than in the emergency setting. In her free time, she still enjoys swimming when she can, reading, spending time with family and friends, and working out.
