Brent earned his undergraduate degree at Austin College in 1994, and was a member of the Austin College football team where he was a 4–time All–American punter. He taught Chemistry for 3 years in the Richardson ISD and was the boys’ varsity soccer coach at Lake Highlands from 1998–2000. Brent graduated from PA school at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas in 2002 and served as the class president while in PA school. He started his PA career in the emergency room and has never left. He has worked in the ER for over 11 years, starting off at Charlton Methodist, then Medical City, and currently working full time as the lead PA at the Medical Center of Plano ER since 2007. Medical Center of Plano is a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center.

Brent is married and has 3 sons that keep him plenty busy taking his kids to all of their sporting events. He enjoys camping, anything outdoors, taking his boys to Texas Rangers games, and playing golf.
